All those things noted, I think the book is FANTASTIC. Best quality UK guidebook yet, by some distance.

Doh, I keep forgetting to congratulate Stuart on this excellent tome for my bookshelf (I've had it for a couple of days now, nah nah!).

Need to work out how to get my dads copy to him as he will actually have much more use for it than me - silly old goat was too lazy to order his own so I ordered 2! Need to tempt him up to Scotland soon!
Did I mention that it is pretty comprehensive with a whole stack of extra 'I haven't checked these runs out but thought you might like to know I'm considering them at some point' stuff at the back, covered by statements along the lines of 'be prepared for a lot of portaging and tree wrestling if you explore these runs' :-p

I was pleasantly surprised that included in "the lake district" are vast areas of Lancashire (all of it I think) obviously including stuff near where my parents live. Amongst other stuff I think I might have to have a look at Cragg Brook if there is a lot of water at xmas :-) Hopefully I won't have a boat!
