Draft Your Steemit Posts With Ladder And Publish Them At Exact Time Of Your Choice

in ladder •  8 years ago  (edited)

Did you ever wish that you could post your Steemit article at some time in the future?

Or did you get this great idea for an article but you don't have time right now to finish it?

Wouldn't it be great that you could make a draft and save it for later?

Now you can!

Ladder is a great new Steemit tool built by @contentjunkie and @rgeddes. You rock, guys!

Ladder.net is your best publishing friend!

Let's do it:

  1. Register at Ladder.net
  2. Add an author (yes, you will have to enter your posting key)
  3. Create a post and set its publishing date in the future

I actually used this post to try it out. I started writing in Steemit then I copy pasted the post into Ladder.

Switch to Ladder.

I am writing in Ladder now. Finishing the post ...

I will set the Post Datetime to 9 AM my local time exactly.

That's seven minutes from now!

Wish me luck :)

Better and better!

I can gladly confirm that this post was auto-published by Ladder. Right on time with all typos and markdown errors :)

We'd make a Steemit specific editor - but something tells me they will have to fix their formatting in general for this platform to flourish - I am betting that the current "hodge podge" formatting is a temporary inconvenience. Most of my posts end up looking like the letters I wrote to Santa when I was a kid ;)

Glad to hear you had success with the scheduler.. I think some people are intimidated to try it out - but its amazing that you used our software to make this post! There is nothing like being free'd from that "Post" button. From our perspective - its an honor to have people use something that we've funded and built.

There is no price that you can put on your time - some people say time is money - I say money cant buy time. If we can save you some time - we've accomplished our goals.

I think you will enjoy what we have in the pipeline!

Thank you very much for your long reply :)

You've put lots of your time and knowledge into the product. It is only fair of us that we test it and use it with an open mind. I am looking forward to the growth of ladder.net very much.

Yes, the editor (and markdown) needs some rethinking. I wouldn't mind having wordpress like editor here. The other thing is that you can't and (won't) use style sheets of steemit.com. Front end looks should be as content / markdown agnostic as possible. Again the parallel with wordpress and themes...

Keep up the good work.

Ps: I am a developer too and I understand your position. OK, I live in a different world (Oracle, PL/SQL stuff :) ).

Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at the sight.

@kus-knee (The Old Dog)

You are welcome :)

Happy birthday :)

I am sure you'll have a great party!

Thanks, I had a great birthday so I am sure that I will also have a great party too^_^

This is a great tool especially for whose who do not share the same time zone as USA

True. Now we can plan our publishing in advance. Or just save ideas as drafts. Or both :)

Good luck!

Upvoted and re-esteemed :) Sounds great, looking forward to try it!

Thank you :)

This tool can be really useful.

I had a look a week ago and couldn't get my images to embed properly. Best I got was the faint UFO. I've embedded plenty of jpg and gif files in steemit directly, but couldn't get any imgur.com links to work in the preview.

It should be fixed for you now.

I think it may be a security policy I have in place to stop cross site scripting. Hopefully I'll have this bug resolved as well as better details on results of a post tonight.

You are right. The preview of imgur images is not working.

You can always create post in Steemit to see the preview and then copy paste it to ladder to schedule it...

Personally I can live without image preview. I trust / expect that it will be displayed OK when published.

Images should be fixed for you now

This post was autoposted with Ladder.net - thank you!

Trying ...

Yes, it is working if you use markdown.

Without it it doesn't display the image. I guess it is so by design?

Good idea. I have a #chessmatch which I update daily inside a one hour window, which has been hard to hit on occasion.
It relies heavily on gifs, so I didn't want to chance it.
I'll have another look at ladder and follow your advice. Thanks :)

Test it like I did above :)

Try different image providers if necessary. I guess imgur is the most convenient, though ...

Good luck!

I'll see if I can figure out a way to fix that. Is it all images or just imgur?

I only tried with imgur.com. Sounds like you've resolved this now. Thanks so much. I look forward to scheduling my posts.

@contentjunkie
I didn't check other providers / urls. Will try later and come back with results.

Its a great tool if you a serializing something - or you can somehow queue up your posts for the day (or year). There arent many metrics to go by - but 4pm and 10pm seem to be key times in whatever market you are trying to hit. This is the first tool of many... @contentjunkie and I are debating the next App to tag on (pretty sure its going to be some type of curation tool)..

Thanks for this post!
