Jika di Padang populer dengan Malin Kundang di Pantai Air Manis, maka di Aceh juga memiliki legenda yang serupa yaitu Amat Ramanyang.
Konon katanya, pada awalnya dia merupakan anak yang baik, namun di puncak kesuksesan dia durhaka terhadap ibundanya. Sehingga sebuah kalimat kutukan akibat kedurhakaan anaknya terlontarkan dari lisan ibunya yang pada akhirnya terkutuklah seorang Amat Ramanyang menjadi batu. Pulau ini sering disebut sebagai Pulau Amat Ramanyang yang terletak di kawasan Pesisir Laut Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar.
