HOW MANY PLACES NAMED LAGOS DO YOU THINK YOU KNOW?

Like every other Nigerian, I used to think Lagos was just one and at the mention of it, one's mind flashes straight to Lagos mega city which happens to be the largest city in Nigeria and also in West Africa as a whole.
The state Lagos was created on the 27th of may 1967. Lagos is classified into two which is the island and the mainland. It is also said to be populated with over 21million people and according to stastics about 123,000 people migrate to Lagos everyday insearch of job opportunities,trade,tourist attractions as well as better standard of living.
After all it turns out that Lagos, Nigeria is not the only Lagos out there. There are many other "Lagoses". Lagos in Portuguese language means lake and the name Lagos was given to the Nigeria state centuries ago when the first set of Portuguese traders docked there. Many lagosians still call the state by local names eg Eko or Las Gidi.
The name Lagos is not particular to Nigeria alone, here are some countries which I never knew have places like Lagos till I came across them.

CHILE

Los Lagos as it is called in chile is a chilean city, it is also known as the region of lakes. The region contains the country's second largest island and also the second largest lake. Los Lagos is dominated by people who's occupation is basically fishing, forestry and cattle rearing. It is also a good tourist centre.

GREECE

Greece has a place called Lagos. It is found in the Xanthi regional unit. Lagos in Greece just like Lagos in Nigeria is also a coastal city. It is situated on the bar separating lake Vistonida from the Aegeansea.

Spain Lagos which is suitated at the province of Malaga. It is regarded as a very sunny area in Spain with pristine beaches.

PORTUGAL

this is the most famous Lagos after Nigeria's Lagos. It is believed that the Nigeria state with same name was named by Portuguese traders who came to Nigeria to trade centuries ago. Lagos Portugal is a great tourist and historic center ranging from nightlife,waterparks,zoos and historic mountains.

FRANCE

Lagos France is a commune in the pyreneese-Altantigues department in the south-western france.the town of Lagos in France Is a small village located in the township of Nay-Est part of the district of Pau.

In conclusion,almost all the above "lagoses" mentioned have some similarities like having beaches,rivers and are also good tourism centers.
I am here still wondering if there are many other "lagoses" out there yet to be discovered.
