When We Call Suffering 'Working'

I Left work around 5pm to go home and rest but i am still inside the bus. I stay in the state Nigerians call mega city. What is mega about this city is what i don't get.

A BRT (Bus Rapid Transport) lane is being constructed on the Abeokuta road (route to Iya Ipaja) and the people in charge sleep at night to work during the day.

Nigeria is a country where we resume 7-8 am in the morning and close by 4-6pm. This is true for almost every Nigerian. So i wonder why these people decide to frustrate us by doing their jobs when we are going to and coming back from work.

I believe in a more civilized country, people's welfare and comfort would be considered first. This was part of why i wrote about development being a tool for destruction.

Journey from Surulere where i work to my house (Egbeda) is maximum 2hrs but it is 4hrs already and i am still inside the traffic.

The annoying thing is they do this so that the people will say the government is working. I don't know why a government would not just consider the people he is serving.

Why must we suffer from our money? These constructions are being done with taxpayers money but taxpayers are the one suffering right now.

Perhaps you are thinking of telling me we will still enjoy it later. This will point to my question which was 'must we suffer to enjoy later'?

I am so tired and angry at the same time. Lagos is truly one of the worst place to live in the world.

It took me 2hrs to move from Abule-Egba where i reside to oshodi this morning. Even as early as 6am today the road was blocked by traffic. We live in a country where we have projects without planing. The gridlock is so sadening

Some of us have never been to Lagos before and every time I say that people look at me with shock and I am forced to ask what is so special about this your Lagos self?

Lols! You need to come to Lag to see dear! The stress is much but it's a place you should try and visit.
