Lakers vs. Clippers To Kick Off Las Vegas 2017 Summer League (Lonzo Ball Debut)

It's the debut of Lonzo Ball, and the new look Lakers as they kicked off the Las Vegas 2017 Summer league. Facing off against their local rival, and long time viewed 'little brother' the Los Angeles Clippers. What a way to start the summer!

In these highlights, you'll see that even though he went 2-15, Lonzo Ball played pretty well tonight. It's a good thing that he wasn't shy or afraid to take shots. Meanwhile he still made plays. Several assists, a block, a steal. He's going to pan out well for what the Lakers need.

We also see, the actual superstar is budding, as Brandon Ingram looks ready for his sophomore season. He's bulked up, added some more tenacity and grit to his game. His take it to the basket game looks ready and I liked that he took that last shot, to avoid OT.

Lakers' other picks look solid as well. Thomas Bryant is looking like he's related to Kobe Bryant.

A Bryant is balling for the Lakers again. All is well in LA! @Lakers @MagicJohnson know what he's doing

I also liked how Josh Hart and Kyle Kouzma looked tonight. Consider for a moment, that Summer league does not really count. The sole purpose is to get the new guys ready for Training camp, and introduce them to NBA level competition early. It also gives teams a chance to 'scout' for even more talent.

So, these are nothing more than glorified scrimages. While Clipper fans will delight in the win, Laker fans realize what this was all about. This was a chance to check out the Wares .... and I don't mean Thomas Ware, who also played pretty well tonight in a short stint. Get ready for an exciting turnaround season, if you're a Los Angeles Lakers fan!
