Barcelona remain on course for their first ever unbeaten La Liga season thanks to superb strikes from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, although they were made to hang on with 10 men.
Suarez volleyed home after 10 minutes, before Cristiano Ronaldo equalised but was injured in the process - he went off at half time. The major first half flash point came when Sergi Roberto was sent off for an off-the-ball clash with Marcelo.
Messi however produced a moment of magic to restore Barca's lead, striking low into the corner. Real earned a point when Gareth Bale scored a fine curled effort in the 78th minute.
