Its very real, a bit of a catch 22 sort of thing. The Camels only take tourists on short rides up the hill. They walk quite a distance to and from their stables. Without tourism they have not purpose. Sometimes I feel so sorry for these beautiful creatures.
Sad really. Why do tourists need to ride a camel.? They belong in the desert doing their thing with Lawrence of Arabia and the like. They do have a purpose and taking tourists on a ride is not it.
