I took this photograph near the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness area. Much of the surrounding area was previously engulfed in a forest fire. You can see that nature makes a swift comeback. The contrast between the red soil, green grass, and black/white tree snags was otherworldly.

A fire tore through the hills behind where I grew up in 2003. It was amazing to see the trees re-grow. We used to go mountain biking through there for a few years, and it was like riding through a green ocean at one point. Great photo. You've capture the density of growth really well.

That sounds awesome. Was it in the Pacific Northwest? This picture was taken on the way up to a trail head. We hiked ten or so miles up the mountain trail through the devastation of the fire. It was all amazingly beautiful. I wasn't able to capture it very well on camera. Some things are probably best left to our personal experience anyways.
