Wild Pacific Trail, Ucluelet

in landscapephotography •  7 years ago

Some digital captures of a sunny, but stormy day on the far coast of Vancouver Island. Taken this past winter near Ucluelet, BC, home to the beautiful Wild Pacific Trail.

Camera: D500 with Nikon 70-200 F4 ... effective focal length on the DX sensor is 105-300mm, which gives you an excellent telephoto range for compression and isolation with landscapes I've discovered.

I love the color gradient in the wave capture in that last photo! In just over a week, I'm heading out to Cape Flattery in the most northwest corner of Washington in a little less than two weeks. Ucelet Bay isn't too much farther north. Just across the inlet if I remember right. Have you been to Cape Flattery/Neah Bay area?

No, I haven't. I bypassed it during a trip back from seeing the Eclipse in Oregon... I really want to explore the Olympic Peninsula.

Awesome waves!!

Thanks man!

Wow the light in that first one is amazing.
