This last weekend we took a small hike through Lost Creek Wilderness, the sun was out and the altitude started at 8,000 feet and climbed up to 12,400 feet.

I liked the 1776 sign since it reminded me of Independence and Freedom.

The hiking path was fairly flat with rolling hills and very dry. It is advised to always drink plenty of water and bring extra clothing just in case the weather changes drastically.

What I like most about Colorado hiking is that there can be remnants of snow on the ground and the weather is comfortably warm. It started to flurry while on this hike but still warm in temperature.

I’m not sure why I took so many photos of signage this time around. I guess I’m learning that some people like all the fine details in blogs and to see what we see as we are walking along.

The highlight of this hike was seeing this lovely mountain peak. The excitement lasted for a total of five minutes. Shrugs.

Since this was such a huge highlight I figured I’d share a long angle with the puffy clouds included. Who doesn’t love beautiful clouds?

There were tons of these alien looking flower seed pods all over the place. If I start to stare at you and make that horrible sound from the movie Invasion of The Body Snatchers just kill me quick.

No hike is complete without featuring a beautiful tree and I found this lovely Aspen motioning for me to come say hello.

I hugged and smiled with this lovely earth creature and we shared a little bit of our stories. Just look at this gem.

I was kind of disappointed I did not get to see the loveliness of the leaves on this tree I named Bess. Alas, there is always the springtime.

If you are ever visiting in this area of Colorado, and want a quick hike. This one is a good one. Peace.

Oh this is getting me excited for our walks at a local state game area- SUCH a great day to spend walking and enjoying nature!

Beautiful views you captured here!

Yay what is a local game area? Are you doing an initiative?
Yes walking and nature is so good for us!
Thank you Goldie! :)

It's a state park that offers fishing, outdoor activities and hunting. Well, not a state park more like state land.
It's a 900-acre game area and they have miles and miles of paths and hiking trails.

Wow sounds like fun ! I can’t wait To see you’re photos.

Looks like a very peaceful and serene place to go hiking... and with some great views too :-)

It was very serene you are so right about that! Yes the view was very pretty for about 5 min lol

now that skin is white as snow. Love the nature <3

Yes tis! So happy you liked it, thank you for stopping by.

That view looks awesome ES! especially that peak.
Tree Hugger!!! and I meant it in a good way. I love sitting beneath a tree and just listening to things go by.

Hey thank you Mave! Glad you me at that nicely. Lol
Yes listening and sitting is so very healing and healthy.

It looks like you had a great hike. The pictures were beautiful. It is funny you mentioned the nice weather with the snow. I always laugh when they show people in California skiing in shorts and stuff. When we have enough snow to go skiing in MI it is usually about 5 degrees F out. Thanks for sharing!

Hike was okay. Thank you so much for your appreciation and comparison of weather. Yeah I’m from CA and I don’t recall the shorts And skiing. LOL that’s funny.
Ah my cousin lives in Minnesota and she showed me photos. Too much snow!

Okay maybe I was exaggerating about the shorts and skiing but we did get a heap of snow this year. Finally starting to melt away.

Ahhahahah okay glad bc I was wondering.
Yeah everyone got hit hard!

Excellent post! I really love the tree shots, looks like a great area to hike. Iv'e never been to colorado before and it's nice to have a peak into what it's like ...reminds me alot of the forests around here in BC, Canada actually. Thank you for sharing =)

Thank you so much!! The area was not too bad, I’ve seen so much beauty here. Guess I can’t wait for the spring when the waterfalls and wildness flowers will Be out. :)
I love Canada!!! So beautiful there (post winter). I’ve been invited to BC this summer but I’m not sire Ignacio I can go. Thank you corn stopping by. :)

What beautiful views! I love how you can go from a dry path to snow on the ground and flurries all in one hike. That is just amazing to me...lol

Thank you so much! Yeah it’s the weirdest feeling too along with the altitude changes. Gotta have strong lungs. Thank you for coming by and sharing your thoughts. :)

I'm so jealous you have amazing places to hike @eaglespirit <3

No jelly please, hopefully you have places near you too. There Ian always a place to explore and fondness you’re happiness. :)

The sky view is so amazing, never seen a tree this white in my entire life

So glad you like it! Yes it sounds called an Aspen and they drink a lot of water too. They’re mountain trees amen usually only found at certain elevations. :)

The view is beautiful! I always like to hike to high places and look down. But this seems to be not that high at all, but already with that view. Nice!

Hello! Well it’s in the mountains and the hike started at 8k feet so that’s been pretty high to most people and went to 12,500 ft that may be considered pretty high. Alpine are usually only foundation in very high altitudes. Yes the view wasn’t pretty good burn yeah I’m more of a continental divide and widespread views with waterfalls and wildflowers. Thank you for your perspective.
