Landscape Above The Eleven Point River: The View From The Ozark Trail

in landscapephotography •  7 years ago

This is the view from the lookout point on the Ozark Trail just above McCormack Lake off of Highway 19 south of Birchtree Missouri!

It's about a Mile long hike up to the top but it's definitely worth it!!! This is as far as i have ever gone on the OT but several of my friends have done a 3 day hike here before!!!

This is one of our favorite places to go hiking and camping!!! We camped at the lake one night to get a nice view of a meteor shower!!!

Here is a topo map of the area I grabbed from USDA.GOV.

I placed an X on the map approximately where the first photo was taken!

I suppose that's true!!

...as far as the eye can see. Great job, keep experiencing and keep sharing with us.

Thanks man!!!! I will!!

Beautiful colors! Is it steep elevation up?

The trail winds back and forth a lot....so it's not that bad!!!

Beautiful photographs!

thanks for posting! I'm about to start a overnight hike on the OT with the goal to be along the eleven point as much as possible due to the summer heat. I'm seeing the first 10 mile section looks best. 3152 trailhead to mccormarck lake trail head. Do you think this will be good or do you know anything about that section?

i can ask around but any of it is beautiful! are you on discord or steemit.chat?! just be sure to either pack lots of water or get some lifestraws just in case!
