A few days ago the UK weather took an unexpected turn for the best...we had real sunshine for the first time in months - in fact I believe it was the hottest day in April for many years. @jchauhan and I made a very last minute decision to visit the Peak District in the early hours of the morning. The plan was to get there in time for sunrise.
We needed to leave at 3am so neither of us got any sleep.
We arrived at the foot of Thorpe Cloud made our way to the top - of course we decided to take the steepest possible route up. By the time we got to the top, the sun had already been rising for about 10 minutes. We were late. BUT...it didn't matter, the views were amazing. We quickly got our gear set up and started shooting. I'm not a big landscape shooter - but I did enjoy this.
Although I'm posting some photographs, my main aim was to get some short time lapses this time round. I was testing an app for this specific purpose on the A7S. I'd like to test it again but for now I don't recommend it. It didn't seem to get the exposure consistent and also failed half way through on a couple of attempts.
I'll most likely post the time lapses soon anyway, but for now, here are a few pictures I took on my 5D while I was waiting for them to finish.
I just felt like this one deserved a B&W conversion
It was quiet up there

Thanks. We were hoping for a few more clouds. But believe me after the weather we've had, we weren't complaining.
