It's Been A Weird Couple Of Weather Days Here In Vegas, But WOAH! Look At Those Clouds! Billowing Is The Word That Comes To Mind!

Vegas is Sunny most of the time. Ok, all of the time! We average 294 sunny days a year. We average 13 days of rain per year. That's it. So when the clouds come rolling in, it's a thing...and boy was this a thing!

I took these pictures facing west at around 4:00 in the afternoon. Right now it tends to get dark between 5:00 and 6:00 so the sun was already starting to drop behind the mountains when I took the pictures.

Weather.com told me there was ZERO percent chance of rain. Zero? Uh...O..K? It didn't look good! The wind was howling, it was cold, and there was some serious bad news clouds rolling in.

I took this picture facing east. The cloud bank in the west hadn't quite rolled in yet, but it was still a little cloudy off east across the Vegas Valley.

I love how the clouds cast those giant shadows across the mountains off in the distance. Yeah sure, they're just clouds. But we don't often get clouds like this in Vegas so cut me some slack...it was exciting!

That little building in the lower left side is a school. I wonder what the kids thought of the clouds? Did they even notice? Probably not..

This last picture I took around 5:30pm. You can't really tell because my camera uses voodoo, but it was pretty dark out. You can really see the progress of the clouds. So ominous!

And the wind!! Oh man was the wind vicious!

In the end, weather.com was completely right. It didn't rain a drop. The wind howled for the next 3 days, but we didn't get any rain. Luckily this morning when I woke up it was finally mostly cloud free!

Ok...mostly cloud free. That's really just a little morning haze that will probably burn off as soon as the sun peaks up over that mountain there in the distance.

Vegas is really something else! People come for the gambling, but the nature is really so much more amazing! I hope you enjoyed my snapshots of Vegas weather life!
