Japanese aesthetics in Dominican Republic

It's hard to imagine a place more remote and isolated from Dominican Republic than Japan. And yet, some Japanese families migrated there after WW2 and established a few settlements. It is not hard to find traces of those events - in Santo Domingo you can find memorials committed to them and an entire section in the National Botanical Garden - a place of rare beauty...

This structure attracted my attention and I decided to do some research on the internet; the image corresponds to an Oki-cat (lantern "seated"), used in small and private gardens, to create a point of interest, are small enough to be placed on the top of a stone and are often used to illuminate the edge of a pond and trails. Inside the house, they use them as a discreet lantern near tropical plants in a glazed terrace. This really coincides with the location of the Oki-cat that we see in the image of the National Botanical Garden. Greetings nameless-berk.

Gonna miss your digests, guys

I like Japanese gardens with stones in pictures, but I've never been in them.
But just like the stones. In my garden there are many plots and stones, flowerbeds, paths and even small platforms are made of stones.
