Valentia is one of the more deceiving locations in Co. Kerry. Seen from the land, it looks peaceful and pastoral, with farms and houses dotted along a gently sloping hillside. It's only when you arrive on the island itself that its dual nature is revealed. From Geokaun and Cromwell Point in the east to Bray head (pictured here) in the west, there is a wild coastline that faces north.
In this picture, you can see the tremendous cliffs formed by the sea, which has been eating into the side of the hillside for aeons.
