Landscape of Dominican Republic: exploring picturesque Juan Dolio Bay

The Dominican Republic is easily one of the most popular and visited Caribbean destinations. Some of its most renowned resorts such as Punta Cana or Samana are known to be frequented by tourists from all over the world and can be therefore quite overcrowded in the peak season.

This is not the case of Juan Dolio though. We picked this little seaside community for our vacation in December 2015 and we enjoyed every second of that stay. Located on the southern coast of the country in the province of San Pedro de Macoris, this little-known laidback resort used to be a fishing village and still keeps its relaxed atmosphere and tranquility.

We loved strolling along the beach and it was during one of these before-sunset walks when I took this shot of the Juan Dolio Bay.
