Landscape Photography: Barlig Rice Terraces

in landscapephotography •  7 years ago

My entry for landscape photography contest. Thank you @juliank for the chance.

Barlig Rice Terraces.jpg

Barlig Rice Terraces is found at Barlig, Mountain Province in the Philippines in the Cordillera Region. It was carved using sharp stones and hands by the Igorots, the indigenous group who lives in the area around two thousand years ago. For centuries now, people had been planting the way their ancestors did without any modern machinery.

Everyone was more familiar with Sagada, Mountain Province or Banaue-Battad when it comes to tourist destination. I just came to know Barlig when I did my research for the viral Carrot Man. I just fell in love with this place. My view from the room of my guesthouse is this view for only $4 or P200.

Nice landscape. Wish I could the place someday.

It is just a couple of hours from Bontoc. Sagada is too crowded for me na kasi. Dito solo ko ang view. Hahaha! Mapang-angkin. Punta po kayo this April. May mga festival sila.

Beautiful view..

Thank you!

You're well..
