I had the pleasure of visiting Niagara Falls for the first time this summer and was blown away by the size and power of this waterfall.
It's difficult to capture just how expansive these falls are but I made an effort by including people in this shot. In the bottom left corner you can see how all the people in blue ponchos are dwarfed by this tremendous formation.
At a place like this you can't help but think about the power these falls generate. Fortunately, Nicola Tesla thought the same thing and helped divert 75% of the river into a hydroelectric power plant. It's hard to imagine that this is just 25% of the river flowing over the cliffs, but it's comforting to know that the sustainable energy source is being utilized without sacrificing the experience of seeing Niagara Falls.
Wow that is really amazing, the power of nature can be so wast :)
Those people in blue ponchos also give a perspective of how huge the waterfall is, they're so tiny against it, I thought for a moment that they were flowers :)
