Hot Springs at Bodhi Manda Zen Center

One of the things I've missed most in the 15 or so years since I was training to be a Zen Monk at the monastery in Jemez Springs is the tranquil Hot Springs available on site. So nice to return to its healing waters.

Haha, still processing the memories that continually rise to the top the longer I am here, but the story will come in time.

I trained for 9 months, some of that involved meditating 18 hours a day... which I concluded was a bit over the top!

Oh my! 18 hours a day~~ whew! that's a lot. The most I've done is at numerous vipassana retreats- what, probably not more than 12 scheduled hours a day. I loved it, but I was able to get great sleep and take walks during the day during which I wasn't really meditating. <3

Eeek - 18 hours a day is tough! 11 hours I've done, for 10 days, and that near on killed me physically - mentally, I could probably do it again.

Ya, the physical aspect is the big challenge for me as well. My mind takes a little while to settle in, but once it does it doesn't really present further trouble.

hey @cahlen, I have a ? For you. I noticed you created many more accounts. How did you go about doing that? Did u have to start from scratch and how did you get enough differing phone numbers to confirm them all? Lol! Or did you do it some other way - like through your main current account or something? Wanting to create another account. Thanks :)

Hey @mountainjewel! I just noticed this question, so sorry about the delay.

You don't need a phone number to create a Steem account. That's only for when you go through Steemit.com to do it. They actually donate Steem to you to give your account enough Steem Power to Post, Comment, Upvote, etc., so they have to make sure people aren't making multiple accounts to essentially take advantage of their charity.

There are multiple places you can make Steem accounts, but the one I've been using lately is here:

https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create

Type the account name you want in the top field.
Copy the contents of the Password field and store it somewhere safe. This is your Master Password.
Set Steem to at least 0.1. This will be sent from the @mountainjewel account to your new account. You can send more if you want.
Set VESTS to the equivalent of at least 15 Steem Power. I believe 40000 will do the trick. This is going to be Delegated from your @mountainjewel account.
Click 'Continue' and enter your @mountainjewel credentials when prompted on SteemConnect.

Glad to hear you weren't waiting on me! What's the new account you made?

I've been doing well, just busy with supporting the Zen Center and taking part in an intensive meditation retreat over the weekend. I've still got to make that video about all of this!

Haven't check out Gila yet, but it's on the list for when I go nomadic again.

thanks for the follow :) i'm sure we'll see a certain wizard featured on there...

i have asked the community for delegations. i've delegated 50 to it and plan to keep doing increments as @mountainjewel continues to grow. currently i have about 300 of mine in qurator to get the daily upvote so some of it is tied up. i do want it to have some sp so people start to use the tag the-hearth. i think the community is more likely to use that if it relates to some type of $$. it's a long term plan to resteem daily, curate weekly, perhaps do some podcasts or interviews if the page develops sufficiently :)
