Language was never my love in school, in fact, it was one of the areas I often avoided but as I have grown up and matured I have learnt to appreciate its importance. Language is your first "Degree", a command of two or three languages mean that you are among a select few and well ahead of the crowd especially when seeking employment beyond your own borders. The 'EducationAruba' launch a unique series explaining "Papiamento", a language I often like to describe as a melting pot of culture. It encompasses several known languages all blended with its own grammar rules.
Papiamento is a language that is primarily spoken among the Dutch islands of the Caribbean, namely Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St Maarten, Saba and St Eustatius. Each island has its own unique flavour as the local islanders would spin off in their own style. It does not matter what you mother tongue is, you definitely make out a word or two in Papiamento, whether you are Spanish, Dutch, English or West Indian dialect Papiamento got your represented.
Here is video 1 of the series detailing aspects of the language
