It’s always good to hear some fancy words or idioms from someone else. They add an extra beauty to the speech. Who doesn’t wanna embellish their speech and impress others?   • Voracious: Desiring or consuming great quantities
  • Indiscriminate: Choosing at random without careful selection
  • Eminent: Of high reputation, outstanding
  • Steeped: Soaked, drenched, saturated
  • Replete: Completely filled or supplied with

Idıoms and Phrasal Verbs

  • To eat humble pie - To admit your error and apologize

After his candidate had lost the election, the boastful campaign manager had to eat humble pie.

  •   Lose face - Be less respected or look stupid because of sth you have done

He could lose face if other people see that he got everything wrong.

  •   Turn a blind eye (to sth) - Pretend not to seeor notice sth, usually sth bad.

The teacher turned a blind eye to some of the children’s bad behaviour.

  •   Out of blue - Suddenly and unexpectedly

My uncle just arrived out of blue.

  • In the distance - Far away, but able to be seen or heard.

We could see lights in the distance.
