Laos has some amazing food.
On this food tour in Vientiane, we ate our way through the capital city, focusing on some local Laotian favorite dishes, and my taste buds were blown away.
Here's the full video:
Here are the foods and restaurants included in this video:
Khao Gee Mae Sab - We met up with Joe to eat khao gee pate, the Lao version of baguettes with pate and eggs. It was a perfect way to start the day.
Total price - 66,000 LAK ($7.94)
Tam Luang Prabang - This small family restaurant serves some of the greatest salads in the world. Their green banana salad will blow your mind.
Total price - 102,000 LAK ($12.28)
Pa Kham Tan Restaurant - This is the laap spot, and make sure you order the version with extra bile and chyme for that amazing bitter taste.
Total price - 123,000 LAK ($14.80)
Anna Grilled Duck - Finally, a real local Lao food favorite is "paeng pet," raw duck blood seasoned with chilies, Lao mint, cilantro, peanuts, and crispy shallots. Take a bite of blood, and chase it with a chili dipped in shrimp paste. Amazing.
Thanks for joining me on this Lao food tour of Vientiane!
