As Daughter Graduates, Father Preps For Deportation.

in latino •  7 years ago

Juan Rodriguez has been in the United States for over a decade and as his daughter prepares to graduate, he prepares to go back to his motherland.

Even though Juan Rodriguez entered illegal over a decade ago, he came to live life of appreciation and dedication for the opportunity to be in the land of the free and home of the brave.

Since he has been here illegally, he has been checking in with immigration officers to maintain good rapport with authorities. Considering how hard Trump has made it for immigrants and Latinos in general, it's no mystery that they're trying to walk the straight and provide for their family.

It's such a beautiful moment to see your child take the stage and be handed a piece of paper that means so much to the latino community. To be deported after is just so sad.

What is with the "so sad, heart breaking " stuff. Hopefully the daughter learned we are nation of laws and that her father broke those laws. Just imagine if the father had applied for actual immigration citizenship the legal way. They could possibly celebrating citizenship and a graduation.
Sorry.

Not only immigrants and latinos but also every kind of visa to states are now hard to take. Even for travellig. :(

Hey! Awesome not fair! hope on better, a trip home this yet not worst....

Soo sad...Really heart touching ...its called life.... Pleasures and sadness side by side

Someone get's deported and your response is

that's called life

So sad really heart-touching story 😒
God bless you my child 😑😑

Immigrants are suffering from pain. be asked to solve problems.

Incredibly sad :( it is just not fair. After all the struggle to achieve a family’s dream... to see it vanish just like that for what i guess we can call a technicality :(

Wow what a sad story... Wish they can come back as a legal immigrant... They've been a responsible people for sure...

Border divides but love unites. Great family bond there. Kudos

What a sad and beautiful story!

so sad

Its not a sad story. He is only trying to set things right and avoid further problems with the authority. He must be commended for such brave step. Coming home is one of the best feelings ever. Home sweet Home.

sure it sucks, but this guy should learn a lesson - enter legally and theres no problem. im not an american or pro/anti trump, but its pretty logical. if you wanna live in a foreign country do all the necessary work and you can stay, dont and you should be deported.
unless you come to my country where my stupid PM Justin Trudeau just lets everyone in no questions asked

So sweet in post, i like it..

Its sad at but at least he got to watch her daughter succeed.Being an illegal immigrant is very difficult l can relate

Good.

He's a thief and needs to go back. His children should not be allowed to keep the citizenship he stole for them; they need to go back as well.

I'll never forget how crazy it was to see the checkpoints that were set up here in L.A. right after the inauguration. Traffic was stopped for blocks in an area of town, I travel through, twice a week.
Going after criminals is one thing, but randomly checking drivers as they go to and from work is taking freedom away from everyone.

Well they have there reasons. They must be worried about overpopulation. After all it's not like they have huge deserts and plains where virtually none lives.

/sarcasm off

Just think, if he would have come in the legal way, rather than by committing multiple felonies, he would be a citizen by now.

I cant bring myself to feel sorry for adult humans who put themselves in bad situations.

Sad.
