Starting by wishing good health to all steemit friends. Coming to participate in another weekly engagement challenge. I am really glad to participate in this engagement challenge. The theme of today's engagement challenge is SLC22-W2 / Branches of Law. Anyway let's start.

According to what was explained in class, according to the law or laws of your country, point to two examples of public law and two examples of private law and explain why you consider that these rights are part of public law and private law.

I live in Bangladesh and I am a citizen of this country. There are various laws in our country. But public law refers to the laws that are made with the common people and the state. On the other hand, personal law refers to the laws that are enacted to settle disputes between two individuals. Two examples in public law and two examples in private law are given below.

Public Law
  • Criminal Law ,1860: Through criminal law works in the interest of the common man and the state. The body of law which deals with crime is called penal law. It deals with punishable persons. Criminal law is established by statute.

  • Human Rights Act,1993 : According to the Constitution, the right to freedom, equality, and life, dignity of person is called Human Rights Act. Through this law it is possible to protect people from violations.

Personal Law
  • Domestic Violence Act 2010:

Through this law, the law of killing a single family or a joint family or a family formed after marriage in case of any kind of discrimination or any trouble with each other is called family violence law. This law removes discrimination between women and children in the family. Domestic Violence Act is framed to deal with family disputes and to take punitive actions.

  • Contract Act 1872 :

Contract law is a personal law. By this act a person binds himself and another party to a contract about any matter or act. In that case, the agreement is also made as a partnership. Contract law contains different types of clauses based on contractual content. And according to these clauses the contract law is framed.

You must select two laws from your country, you must place them in a branch of law explained in class (or a branch of law it is related to or similar to), you must explain why you placed that law in that particular branch

  • Transfer of Property Act: The Transfer of Property Act is mainly formulated to solve the property disputes between two parties through this Act. Transfer of property through various sections of this Act such as sale and purchase, ancestral property and exchange of property with each other etc. The task is performed.

Therefore to me this Act prevails as a piece of personal law.

  • Income Tax Act: Government revenue increases through this Act. Tax is levied on the income of the public which has to be paid by law. There are different categories of income for assessment of income tax. All income taxes are usually paid through administrative.

It is basically a part of administrative law because payment of income tax is under administrative jurisdiction.

Of all the branches of law (explained in class or what you know and not explained), which do you find most interesting and why?

Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act

It is a law that has two legal responsibilities, either state or private. Because currently women and children are being tortured in various ways. Legislation has been enacted to stop these tortures. Currently, these problems have arisen all over the world. Violence against women and children can take various forms such as abduction, dowry, detention, criminal execution and various penal offences.

This law will affect the society and the state. Because through this law the victims of women and children will be punished and the society will become normal.

I think on the one hand it falls under state law as much as it falls under private law. Because women and children are usually abused in the family. In that case it must be designated as private law. On the other hand it can be regarded as state law as it is socially oppressed. Because nowadays women and children are being oppressed in various ways. Therefore Bangladesh Women and Child Torture Suppression Act 2000 has been enacted.

Family, society, country and nation will become better by punishing the perpetrators through the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act. That's why this law is attractive to me.

We've all had or experienced moments within a branch of law. You must therefore tell us of your own or someone else's experience but of which you have full knowledge and can adapt or compare it to any of the laws explained in class.

Our Bangladesh Muslim marriage is done by fixing the price in a Kabinnama where the boy and girl are married. The value of this kabinnama has to be mentioned in future divorce proceedings. However, our country also has laws on divorce.

A cousin of mine has been married for the past few years but has no children. But for the past one year there was trouble in his marital life. So the boy side sent the divorce letter through the court. As my cousin is in her father's house for several months. Therefore, according to the law of the court, the amount mentioned in her marriage certificate is paid to her by the son. After that, the two got divorced through some other rules.

This is because measures have been taken as per law to resolve family issues. Hence it can be said that it is limited to private law. Because two family problems are solved by divorce law.

He gave a very good idea about the law. And the most important thing is that I am a Bangladeshi. The laws of Bangladesh are strict and rule-based. You have very beautifully highlighted the importance of law. I learned a lot about law by reading your post. Good luck to you @Selina sister
