One must have ID to work in Australia. i believe Australia is further along with removal of common law than U.S, Canada. The right to bear arms has been removed here. With over 900 killed while in police custody or custody related operations in last 30 years if you read the NDICP report. This includes a number of unarmed shot in the back for walking away..sorry i mean escaping. These deaths are classed as justified, so remain in the report which is quite surprising, it is not what is in the report, but what is excluded - and the report excludes a number of people that had no identification and excludes those killed unlawfully and those killed before an arrest could be made. The police are also taking their own lives at a rate of one per month. i would guess that the death rate would be in excess of 2 per week. That may not sound like much, but the population here is around 10 million lower than Canada and we are unarmed. Could you imagine any other business having a death rate like this! What if walmart or macdonalds killed this many people each week. To have no ID here could result in one coming to some serious harm at the hands of police officers as they are ignorant of the law. We are 100 x more likely to be killed by police than by a murderer/killer. Interestingly a homeless man refused to identify himself to a police officer in Adelaide i think was last year, you can watch the man receive a serious beating from the police officer with his baton. if it was not for the fact this was filmed and is on you-tube, no-one would believe it. No charges were brought against the officer and the man was awarded $100k damages but has refused to return to collect the damages because he fears for his safety.
