MANAMA: North Korea's Kim Yong-un is a Manchester United fan and hopes North Korea's professional players in Italy will prove to be top-quality, an Italian senator said on Tuesday.
In an interview with the Sun newspaper, Antonio Ratsi said he regularly talks to the North Korean dictator about things like football.
Kim said he was pleased with North Korea's Kuang Song, who plays for Serie A club Progia, saying he believes his players will play hard and join the Premier League soon.
He noted that North Korean television broadcasts English Premier League and World Cup matches regularly. The Italian senator said that Kim had not missed a major championship, where he was obsessed with the ball while studying in San Siro, Switzerland.
