Leadership is an attitude and a state of mind. It has nothing to do with political position, title or amount in your wallet or bank account. Leadership can not be thought, coached or lectured. You are either a Leader or a follower presently.
Do not get me wrong every leader was once a follower, so you being a follower today doesn't mean you don't have leadership trait in you.

WHAT MAKES YOU A LEADER
Most people holding top positions in companies, industries, and the society only occupy those seats but lack leadership traits.
Certain attributes and characters makes a person a good leader, a few of which includes
Vision: Leaders always have a clear sight of where they are going and what they want for their followers.
Courageous: The ability to take risk is one attribute of a good leader. A good leader should alway see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Honesty: This is one attribute of leadership that is missing in several people holding posts at the top. Most of them cannot be truthful for once. They find it hard, to be honest.Honesty to your followers, and co-leaders is a major key.
Integrity: You can not claim to have integrity when you lack honesty. These two things work hand in hand
Humility: Leadership is not tyranny. It is not pledging your followers to slavery. Being a leader, you have to be humble
Delegation And finding Strenght In Team: A good leader should be able to build strength in his/her team and a leader should be able to assign activities and responsibility on his/her teammates and followers according to their strength.
Confidence: A leader should have a very high level of self-esteem and self-respect so as to stand challenges and speak to his/her subordinates
- Strategy planning and focus*: Leaders are always focused and do not forget the main reason they are there. They make plans to accomplish their set goals.
