Welcome to steemversity!!
In this post o want to talk about the difference between good leadership and poor leadership and why good leaders are indispensable.

I've read and heard different definitions of leadership from different top speakers, but I'll like to simply define leadership as the "ability to get results", that's the essence of being a leader.
That means you can be a leader without followers, once you can accomplish a task successfully.
On a second definition I'd say leadership is the "ability to get results through other people". This usually involves lots of work to be done, you'll need to get people to work with, organize them, delegate responsibilities to them and work with them towards achieving a goal.

A good leader becomes an 'X' (multiplication sign) because you multiply the efforts of your followers together and get a perfect result. On the other hand a bad leader is a '÷' (division sign), you divide the efforts of your followers and thus yield less results.

Good leaders have certain special qualities and I'll talk about three.

  • Fast Thinking vs Slow Thinking:
what is the difference between thinking fast and thinking slow? I basically use the consequences principle when thinking on a matter at hand. You need to understand that the importance of a thing is as much as its consequences.
In other words a very important issue would have a very important consequences, and a fairly important issues would have a fairly important consequences.
Fast thinking is automatic, instinctive and intuitive etc while slow thinking is what you do when you are thinking of matters with great consequences such as: hiring people, delegating responsibilities etc. It involves thorough thoughts and evaluation.
Top leaders have the habit of slow thinking.

  • Long term thinking vs Short term thinking:
Another type of thinking I'd like to evaluate is long term thinking vs short term thinking.
There's a direct relationship between how much time you think long term and how much you move up in your life.
Top leaders will fold their hands and say "let me think about it for a while" rather than make hasty decisions.

  • Informed thinking vs Uninformed thinking:
good leaders would spend time getting all the necessary information on a situation before slowly making a decision that will influence the long term life of the company or organization.

When I though I should be a fast thinker but now I know better, it really an educative post..

Thanks for sharing your thought, you are right putting your followers first would help you get the best out of them.hope to seeing you more
