LEAD NOT LID

Leadership is by example! A word we have heard over and over and over again, leadership is influence, a leader always have the affairs of his followers at heart.

Leadership is the ability to nurture people in an art and take them to the top, not withstanding the situations and circumstances being faced.
The main goal of every leader is to grow their followers to the full capacity of leadership and become leaders of themselves.

Nowadays, most leaders face the challenge of finding themselves alone at the top, due to the fact that they do not effectively grow their followers to become leaders of themselves. The problem faced by the leaders on this issue is the problem known as “being a LID”....

LID is the phenomenon whereby Leaders
L=LIMIT
I= INHIBIT
D= DELAY
The capacities and abilities of their followers, either conciously or unconciously. This attitude has caused many followers of known leader to fall short of their expectations of growth and develpment.

There is a solution to this though, every leader must understand the heartbeat of every leader, which each leader should always bear at heart. These four principles are :

1. L = LOVE:

Every leader must love their followers, you have to have passion for the success of your followers to be able to atain the status of the leader to them.
Your job as a leader is to empower your followers. And leaders empowers only those who they can love dearly.

2. E = EMPATHY;

Love is a gift and not a reward. True love is unconditional. As a leader, empowering your followers is not done with sympathy. Sympathy is a feeling of love without action, while empathy is the feeling of love with action. Having empathy for your followers, drives you to do great things for them as their leader.

3. A = APPRECIATE:

The attitude of gratitude is one of the best way to help someone grow. Showing them that you appreciate every little of their efforts, will motivate them to do more and want to become more.

4. D = DESIRE:

The major goal for every leader is the desire to ensure the success of his followers, this desire is what fuels the emotion of the leaders to push the followers towards success and accomplishments beyond the normal writs of the leader.
