Camphorwood, whose scientific name is cinnamomum camphora, is a type of evergreen tree.
Also known as camphor tree or camphor laurel, it is native to China south of the Yangtze River, Taiwan, southern Japan, Korea, India, and Vietnam.
The leaves have a waxy sheen and a camphoraceous aroma when crushed.
Traditionally, camphorwood has been used for centuries as an ingredient in incense, as a spice in cooking, and as a medicine.
