The bamboo-leaf oak, whose scientific name is quercus myrsinifolia, is a species of Asian tall tree in the beech family, Fagaceae.
It has several other names, including Chinese evergreen oak and Chinese ring-cupped oak, and is native to central and eastern southeastern China, Japan, Korea, Laos, northern Thailand, and Vietnam.
The tree is an evergreen oak, usually growing up to 20 meters tall.
The leaves have serrated edges and are 6 to 11 cm long and 1.8 to 4 cm wide.
