Bigleaf Periwinkle, scientific name vinca major, is a species of flowering plant in the apocynaceae family.
It is also commonly known as large periwinkle, greater periwinkle and blue periwinkle, and is native to the western Mediterranean.
This plant is a vine, spreading along the soil and rooting along its stem to form a dense clump of ground cover.
The leaves are opposite, glossy, dark green and leathery in texture, and the base of the stem is nearly rounded with a lance-shaped apex.
