Yucca cane, whose botanical name is yucca gigantea, is a species of flowering plant in the asparagaceae family.

This plant is native to Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and eastern Mexico.

It is an evergreen shrub that is widely cultivated as a houseplant and ornamental plant.

Yucca canes usually grow 8 to 12 m tall, and their very narrow leaves spread in clumps.

The flower is the national flower of El Salvador, locally called Izote, and is edible and widely used in El Salvadoran cuisine.
