Carolina laurelcherry with the scientific name prunus caroliniana is a half-tall evergreen tree belonging to the rose family.
The tree is about 12 meters tall and is native to the southeastern United States, from North Carolina south to Florida and west to central Texas.
It is found growing naturally in lowland forests, forest edges, and valleys.
The leaves are narrowly elliptic and glossy dark green. The edges are usually whole margin but can be jagged.
