Bugle, Bugleweed, Carpetweed (Ajuga Reptans)

Commonly known as bugle, this plant has the scientific name ajuga reptans.

It is also known by the names blue bugle, bugleherb, bugleweed, carpetweed, carpet bugleweed and common bugle.

It is a flowering herb belonging to the mint family and is native to Europe. The leaves are dark green with purple highlights.

Bugles are also known as "carpenter's herbs" because of their ability to control bleeding.

In Austria, bugle has traditionally been used as a tea for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
