Chinese fringe flower, whose botanical name is loropetalum chinense, is a tall evergreen tree with branches that form horizontal layers.
Also known as loropetalum and strap flower, it is native to China, Japan, and Korea.
The leaves are alternate, slightly rough, 2.5 to 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.
The color varies from bronze-red when freshly grown to olive green or burgundy when mature.
