Deertongue, whose scientific name is dichanthelium clandestinum, is a species of grass that is perennial rhizome.

This grass is native to eastern North America, including eastern Canada and the eastern United States, and forms clumps of hairy stems up to 1.4 meters long.

There are 5 to 10 leaves along the stem.

And each leaf is spear-shaped, sometimes stiff, hairless or slightly hairy. Their length reaches 25 cm with a width of about 3 cm.
