Fern leaf begonia (scientific name begonia bipinnatifida) is an unusual begonia with fern-like leaves.
Native to New Guinea, it is a shrub with upright or semi-upright stems and dark red branches.
The leaves are dark green above and dark red below, sloping, elliptic-ovate, with pointed tips and obtuse bases that are oblique or slightly semicentric.
Fern leaf begonias can be grown in hanging baskets or window pots or planted in the ground in a shady, moist location.
