Forest fever-berry, botanical name croton sylvaticus, is a tree of the euphorbiaceae family.
It occurs primarily in moist forests, shrubs, and forest margins at altitudes of 350 to 1800 meters, usually 7 to 13 meters, sometimes 30 meters.
Sap from the leaves is used for wound healing, and an infusion of the leaves acts as a laxative.
The bark is then used to treat malaria, and a decoction of the root bark is taken orally as a tuberculosis medicine.
