The maidenhair tree, scientific name Ginkgo, is a species of tree native to China.
Since at least the 11th century AD, the seeds, leaves, and nuts of this tree have been used in Chinese medicine to treat a variety of ailments.
In 2020, a Chinese study on a 667-year-old ginkgo tree showed little effect of aging.
They found that the tree continues to grow with age and continues to produce phytochemicals indefinitely.
