Petrocosmea (African Violet)

Petrocosmea is a genus in the family Gesneriaceae, the African violet family.

This genus was discovered in China by Augustine Henry and first described by Daniel Oliver in 1887.

It is a rosette-forming genus that generally grows in rocky or mossy forests.

Most of the species in this genus are endemic to the highlands of western China, but some are native to other parts of Asia.
