Rose-painted calathea, scientific name calathea roseopicta, is a species of plant in the marantaceae family native to northwestern Brazil.
It is an evergreen clump-forming plant, usually growing to a height of 50 cm.
The leaves are large and round, dark green on the upper surface, red on the lower surface, with hairy edges.
There are also cream or pink "painted" stripe markings along the veins and belly of the leaves.
