Ruscus bamboo, botanically named shibataea kumasaca, is a species of flowering plant in the grass family.
Also called ruscus leaf bamboo, it is native to the mountain slopes of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces in China and is widely cultivated in other regions.
This is a compact green bamboo that typically grows to a height of 1.5 m and forms clumps.
Through its creeping rootstock, it can also become invasive under favorable conditions, like other cultivated bamboos.
