Myconia crenata, formerly called clidemia hirta and commonly referred to as soapbush or Koster's curse, is a perennial shrub.
This densely branched, long-lived (perennial) shrub usually grows to a height of 0.5 to 3 m, but can reach 5 m in some habitats.
The leaves have a slightly wrinkled appearance, with five distinct veins running almost parallel from the base of the leaf to the tip.
These plants may form dense bushes that cover plantations, meadows, and native vegetation.
