Southern arrowwood, whose botanical name is viburnum dentatum, is a small shrub native to the eastern United States and Canada.

Also called arrowwood viburnum or roughish arrowwood, with leaf that is simple and berries growing in pairs inside a berry-like kernel.

In late fall, the leaves turn yellow and then red.

The young stems were used by Native Americans to make arrow shafts.
