Vismia baccifera is a small tree or shrub tropical plant native to South America.
Traditionally, this plant has been used as a traditional medicine by the indigenous people of the Amazon in Brazil as well as Colombia.
It has been shown to fight kidney and liver tumors by inducing a large amount of oxidative stress in cancer cells.
This causes rapid death of cancer cells, but does not affect healthy cells.
Vismia, on the other hand, is a genus of flowering plants in the hypericaceae family.
