Weeping Fig (Ficus Benjamina)

The weeping fig, whose scientific name is ficus benjamina, is a species of flowering plant in the fig family native to Asia and Australia.

Also called benjamin fig or ficus tree or simply ficus, it is a tree up to 30 m tall with graceful drooping branches.

The leaves are glossy, pointed and oval, the young leaves are light green and slightly wavy, while the older leaves are green and smooth.

In tropical latitudes, this tree grows huge and stately in parks and in other urban situations, such as beside wide highways.
