Yew plum pine, whose scientific name is podocarpus macrophyllus, is a coniferous tree of the genus podocarpus in the podocarpaceae family.
In English it is also called buddhist pine, and fern pine.
The leaves, along with the central midrib, are square in shape, 6~12 cm long and about 1 cm wide.
These plants grow in forests, bushes, and roadsides.
It is the northernmost species of the genus podocarpus and comes from southern Japan and east-central China.
