Learn from the Bible: In idleness there is loss and dire poverty, for idleness is the mother of famine. Tobit 4:13

The Book of Tobit along with the Book of Job and the Book of Ruth are stories from the Bible with a certain fantasy content that contains a deep ethical or moral message, which is why they are considered sapiential books in some Bibles such as the Catholic.
And the wisdom that the Book of Tobit shows to the readers of the Bible is a wisdom of everyday application, the book does not discuss about deep theological questions, the book shows how with simple practical advice anyone can achieve blessedness.
Tobit was a God-fearing man from the tribe of Naphtali and was, according to the book that bears his name, deported to Assyria. And in this Kingdom, under the rule of the tyrant Sennacherib, he suffered persecution for his acts of mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) toward the dead. But then Esarhadon took over and restored to Tobit his properties and his family. While at home, Tobit suffered an accident and was deprived of his sight, suffering terrible blindness; and reflecting on his problems, he remembered some money that he had left in deposit in Media, and so he decided to send his son, Tobiah, to recover the money.
But Tobit did not say goodbye to his son without first giving him a series of valuable advice from which to learn. And so he gave him a wise advice: "For in arrogance there is ruin and great instability. In idleness there is loss and dire poverty, for idleness is the mother of famine" Tobit 4:13.
What Tobit recommended above all things to his son was to avoid the capital sins of pride and laziness, which are, it could be said, the most destructive sins and those that cause the most suffering, whoever practices these sins has guaranteed the misfortune.
Tobiah, the Book of Tobit relates, because of his righteousness and fear of God, emerged victorious from his adventure through divine guidance. The Book of Tobit teaches the importance of persevering to the end despite adversity.
